Probably shouldn't admit it, but I used a 2x4 and beat around the shaft. I bottomed it out, then pried on the u-joint to push it back out to where it needed to be. So far so good :whistle:

Being as these are unitized seals and spin internally against sealing surfaces at the same RPM as the tire spins when in 4x4
getting the depth set properly is key to longevity specially if you like functioning auto locking hubs
