I posted this in the Excurstion forum with no answers so I figured I'd move it here to get a possible answer. Drained water separator twice in the past two weeks and found amber flakes in the fuel. The flakes look like varnish but not sure if diesle fuel varnishes like gas does. This stuff is plugging up my file filter causing low fuel pressure. Has anyone experienced this and if so how do you get rid of it. Fuel tank is plastic so don't know what this is from. Please help

From what I've seen, the lining on the fuel tank flakes off from the low sulfur diesel. Here at work we recoated one of the truck's tank at a radiator repair company and it hasn't given anymore issues. We have another truck that is experiencing the same thing and we're thinking of replacing the tank with a plastic one from MTS COMPANY, L.C. - Plastic fuel tanks for Jeep, Ford, Chevy, Scout, willys, and Toyota.
