Spent 10,000 on 05 F250 6.0 Powerstroke with EGR Delete cold air intake exhaust 5 in exhaust 8 in lift bought it for my tree company was supposed to be a daily driver from my personal mechanic I've known 20 years who said buy it hook up your trailer and drive it and work everyday no issues within 7 Days of buying the truck I had to put a new ficom in it and IPR valve and was given a list of things that needed to be fixed then spent $2,000 having that done got it back 4 days later head gaskets blew I have $252,000 miles need the truck for my company I spent everything I had getting this vehicle I love the power strokes don't get me wrong I knew what I was getting into but should I try and save the engine or just bite the bullet and let it go is it worth doing the heads and head studs and the entire bulletproof setup or buying a new engine or should I just kick it run

Is this a backstory to this dilemma or just a similar story you're sharing?
Similar story....sorry for not making that clear.

Surprised the Bully Dog didn't also take out the transmission!
That came later....🤣

Another thread ruined. Nothing but bashing here, and OP might be gone for good.
Well the OP was logged back on 3 hrs ago and has yet to give any extra info. So thread quality really depends on info given. Most of these threads with people just coming hear to complain end this way.

Most people with 6.0 problems are far past the sensitive type…

If you want to be coddled and only told what you want to hear then go back to your mechanic that probably fkd you in the first place. Most people have no idea until they have owned a 6.0 for years and dumped thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours making it right, and are entitled to give real advice.

Boo hoo ......Stt Take your sympathy reply and go help the OP that most likely destroyed his own truck. He came here for real answers and vanished because he didn't like what he heard after asking for advice.

That meme got him a warning... had he been a newer member it would have been a vacation.
turbo sticking can cause it to blow off, or just the boot , if you havent noticed any other concerns , go buy you a new boot , clean tube and turbo good and install a new boot , trying to reuse the old boot will continue to cause you problems, replace it , drive it and see if that takes care of the problem before goin any further
Question when I was riding down the road yesterday after hauling a trailer my Turbo hose popped off I heard a pop and then the turbo hose popped off and oil shot everywhere what does that mean

That I have to replace the turbo or is it just an easy fix
Oil in the CAC system (Charge Air system) is normal due to the Closed CrankCase Vent system (CCV). Obviously the boot blowing off isn't acceptable, but if they get oil soaked, they will deteriorate.

You just need to inspect the boot closely (clean it with Brake Kleen).

You might be over-boosting also. Need to watch the MAP sensor output and EBP. Comparing MAP, EBP, and Baro at KOEO is helpful from time to time. They should all be the same at KOEO (within 0.5 psi anyway).

Post Pics if you are unsure of anything.
