Took my turbo apart to install a rebuild kit and found the nut on the exhaust side chewed up. Not sure what to make of it.
I attached a pic for all to see

Grind to balance when built is good and all but they could’ve avoided grinding on the nut I need to put a wrench on. Lol.

Normal balancing grind marks

Just wrap a shop towel around the wheel and hold it with your hand -- the nut should not be that tight anyways -- oh yeah, be sure to turn the nut the correct direction

that is a good tip about the towel. I’ll try that.
I do know about it being reversed threads.
hopefully this weekend I can get back to it.

Yeah, I just hold the wheel with a towel and 'buzz' the nut off with my 3/8 battery impact

Be safe -- sharp objects and all that bla bla stuff
