I just got an adjustable trac bar and was wondering if i can leave the truck down on its tires while installing it... I installed a lift on my old ford but it was about 5 years ago and cant remember how much of a task it was to install the track bar.. any help will be appreciated.. thanks in advance

better spray the bolts real good with pb blaster and have a torch handy to heat them up if needed. i just had to jack the frame up a little bit when i installed mine, just to line the bolt up.

You need to install while on the ground. If the present tracbar was installed properly, it would have red Loctite on the bolt end. For that, you will either need a really long lever, or significant heat. For installing, roll the truck back and forth to center the axle and set the ride height to static. measure the distance between the mounting holes and set the tracbar to close to that. Install the lower end and slide the bolt through. Fine tune the adjustment until the upper bolt slips in easily. Install nuts using Loctite and torque to 450ft-lbs. Tighten adjustment locknuts.
