Hey Y'all,

I'm new to the 6.7 and have a question. I have recently installed two LED lights under my bumper to help while reversing. I have these lights patched into the reverse light wiring itself on the tail lights. Now the thing is when the truck is off and in reverse with the key on, all reverse lights work. But when I start the truck and put it into reverse none of the lights work at all. It has me stumped and I would really appreciate any help. Thanks!

Weird, I did a similar setup with a common hot line from the left side reverse bulb harness to my led lights, and then did a common ground (both on one line) to a bolt on the receiver hitch. No problems here. How are yours wired? Each light to + and - of the harness?

Did the housing BU lights work correctly before you added the LED auxiliary lights? If they did, then the way the LEDs are wired is affecting the they work now. Try what @heleonardman did.

On my '01, I had 55W incandescent BU lights initially so I added a relay to not overload the BU circuit. The relay trigger is the BU light circuit. I've since changed to LED auxiliary BU lights. I left the relay - Still working great!! With LED drawing so much less than what I had, you shouldn't need to do a relay.

Yeah with LEDs you shouldn't need a relay, they dont draw much nor are they generally on for long.

I had this issue. The new trucks have a can bus system and it senses the extra current and shuts the power off thinking its a short. You need to wire them up to the trailer wiring harness.
