Hey all, Ive been fighting a fuel leak on my new to me 7.3, its a 99.5 with a build date of march of 99, and Ive been having issues with it leaking fuel pretty profusely from around the intlet fuel line side fuel bowl (from the compression type fitting on the drivers side of the assembly on the top), I believe its causing my engine not to run the best as well, as its not getting the fuel it needs or its sucking air. Ive since replaced the threaded part on the fuel bowl and the rubber oring inside the female side of the fitting. I washed my motor today and put a peice of rag around the fitting and its soaked in diesel. I am at a loss as for what to do. Any adivce or ideas?
Thanks,
Nick.

Are you sure the rubber o-ring is the right one? where did you get it? It should be sealing if the parts are new. For whatever reason if it is still leaking I would try some pipe sealant, like teflon tape or similar. Make sure all of the old o-ring is out of the fitting, you might need an ice pick. This would definitely cause a leak.

I got all the parts and oring at my local ford dealer. it was labeled on the package that it was for the inlet for fuel on the fuel bowl. all the old oring was removed and cleaned before i replaced it. it looks like the oring is being blown out around where the fuel line comes out of the fitting.

Then maybe your over tightening it. Is should be a tapered fitting once it's finger tight a quarter turn more should be all that is needed to seal it.

yea the fuel line that screws onto the part with the 2 hex head screws is whats leaking. from the oring inside the compression part. ill try taking it back down and fixing the oring and not tightening it down as much
