Hi. I have changed trans fluid with filter. Old fluid was not burnt. Checked and cleaned vss. Checked plugs to trans and applied die electric grease then plugged back. My prob is that the motor will continue to climb in the rpms and wont shif from 2-3 unless i rev it up and let off the accelerator. Could this be a solenoid pack problem? I dont want to take it to a trans shop unless i have to. Can someone help. The truck has 189k and i just recently purchased it.
Thanks

It could be a solenoid pack problem, it could also be that you changed the fluid. Changing the fluid after 100k miles w/o it being changed before will destroy your transmission. The new fluid going into it has all new cleaners in it where your old fluid has been conditioned with the cleaners being very mild. You put the new fluids in there and they start to clean everything and before you know it, your clutch packs are gone and your transmission does not move.

Thanks for the hlp bigfuel and robenator. The truck had sat about 3to yrs before i bought it. It had this problem when i bought it. I thought changing the fluid and filter was a good idea because i had no idea when it had be changed prior. Any additional info will be appreciated,
Thanks

did you ever find out what was the problem. Mine is doing the same exact thing but only in 1 to 2. Changed fluid, filter and pulled no codes from scanning it. I took it to a reputable trans shop and they believe the direct bands are gone. Looking like a rebuild, but i was curious to if you found out anything else

Thanks

I haven't found out anything yet. I seldom drive it. If i find out anything soon i will let you know. I think mine is a solenoid pack. Mine sat for 2-3 yrs without being ran.
