My buddy has a 97 f250 reg. cab with the 460 in it. it is an automatic 4x4 with about 165,000mi on the clock. He is about to buy a 32ft pull behind camper and is curious about what all he needs to do to his truck to haul the camper. The tranny was rebuilt about 5000mi ago and he did add a leafs on all 4 corners for about a 2" lift. We are planning on airbags in the rear, a bigger tranny cooler, and a class 5 hitch so far. Any help on what brands and what else, if anything, is needed so towing the camper isnt so hard on his truck would be greatly appreciated.

Tranny cooler, the biggest you can find. Tranny temp gauge as well. His tranny is going to be the weak link in his setup, its not like he has to worry about EGT's.

That said, maybe a coolant flush to clean out the rad/block. Might help with water temps on long grades.
