So for a while my truck will juts barley cut out for a second when accelerating and maybe a few times while driving. But recently it will cut out a little bit then it will completely die and act funny for 5 seconds then turn back on by its self then act normal for a minute then do it again then it'll be fine after that and drive like nothing happened. Is it electrical or fuel? Thanks

Throw a new CPS at it for a start maybe ?

Look at the tach when this happens. This is a bit of a generalization, but if you see the tach drop to zero when this happens, then it points to an electrical issue (CPS, wiring, fuse connection, PCM connection, etc). If the tach continues to read engine RPM, then it suggests a fuel or IDM issue. Not a definitive diagnosis, but a rough guide to help narrow down the source.

When it dies the tach goes to zero. I'm going to pick up a CPS today and see if that fixes it. Thanks for the info

When it "comes back from the dead", does the WTS light come on briefly?

Thanks for the info! Went to autozone and picked up a $20 CPS and it runs great!

Get another one as the CPS goes out when it is most undesirable. Keep it in the glove box with a 10mm 1/4" drive ratchet so that you won't be left stranded on the side of the road with a trailer a state away from home. We all keep a spare because of this very issue.
