Hey, I've found this nice looking truck for sale. Its a 95 2WD f250 Powerstroke reg cab that has 168,000 miles on it and looks nice. But i want to covert it from 2WD to 4WD.

What would be involved?
What am i getting myself into?

I was thinking about trying to find a 4WD donor truck. I have found a 93 f250 reg cab for cheap but not sure if everything will work because that is a slighty different model i think.

I am planning on lifting the truck after i would get it converted so i think i would get a blocks, leaf springs, and shocks to replaces all the 2WD parts.

If anybody is able to help that help would be greatly appreciated!:icon_ford:

Cheaper to just find a 4x4, but your gonna need tranny, transfer case, leaf springs, axle, front and rear drive shafts, the hangers that connect springs to frame, track bar, cross member for the tranny, wiring harness for transfercase, lots of stuff

Not to mention, a cherry picker. At one point you have to take off the cross member holding the engine. Unless you have a donor truck and you seriously know how to turn a wrench, id say just find another truck. They're out there. Also you'd be drilling into your frame in some spots. Its really a hassle. If your seriously interested, I can help you out. If you have a buddy or two and EVERYTHING you need, its not a bad job. Prob 9 out of 10 on difficulty level, but its rather straight forward.
