Drove truck about 60 miles and ran fine. pulled in the front yard & shut it off to unload. Would not start again. Towed it to side yard to get it out of the way & let it set for a couple days. Fired right up after two days setting. Ran again for about 15 miles and parked it again for a week. Son-in-law came to borrow it and started right up and ran for only a couple minutes and died. Would not start. Crank all you want. NO START. Tried today and no start again. Checked for fuel, pumps fine after the filter. Checked fuel shut off and it does click, so I'm assuming it works OK. Glow plugs seem to be working also. Still won't start. Ignition key's been on for pobly 10 minutes now so glow plug circuit isn't activated any more and give it a shot of starting fluid.Fired right up after a bit of cranking. Died a couple minutes later and won't start again. Another couple mins give it a shot of starter fluid and runs fine for a couple mins again. Seems to run OK when it's running but just dies after a few minutes of running and will only start with starter fluid. Trucks fully warmed up to. Please don't tell me it's injector pump. It looks like A LOT of fun to replace.

Are you positive you're getting fuel after the filter? I've got the same problem with my '93 & after some testing it ended up being the injector pump. From what I'm told, they're only good for about 125k-130k miles. Another thing you might want to check is the return lines/caps found on top of the injectors. It's possible air is being introduced into the system & could be giving you symptoms of an airbound condition. I honestly think it's the injector pump, but I'd wait until someone else responds to your thread. Good luck, man.

Don't know how many miles are on the injector pump. Picked truck up 4-5 years ago with 242,000 and now have 267,000. As far as return lines go, they were replaced a couple years ago so I would think they're still good. Gut feeling it's injector pump. Seems to be good fuel flow out of the filter so fuel supply is good. Since the next stop for fuel is injector pump. I was afraid of that. NOT GONNA BE FUN. Really good truck when it's running tho.

I think it's the injector pump too, bro. They tend to be on the expensive side, but there's deals out there. Good luck, man.
