Okay so i have a 2000 f250 7.3 ccsb 160xxx that just recently is giving me this horrendous knocking sound when at idle but as soon as i give it throttle it goes away. i have been noticing some white smoke on initial start up and after doing some research ive become to think its an injector. please any help would be very appreciated i just want my baby running smooth again :please:

i also bought an O ring injector kit but i want to be sure its going to be fixed if i start digging into this thing! Thanks

Damn dude that sounds terrible! Id check out the flex plate/flywheel like you said. maybe something came loose and that's why it sounds a tad speratic

Yep apparently it's fairly common that the flex plate cracks right around the mounting holes and just rattles around at idle but once you put a load on it it's like it was never there. Got a quote guy wants $806 to drop tranny and switch it out for a new one so I may have to get on it myself

I know its been years since you posted this but my 99 250 started making this exact noise. What was causing it?? I've been told flex plate and injector failure. Any help you can give would be VERY much appreciated!
