When I first got my truck I would occasionally get a burning rubber smell. Most likely it's caused by the heat from the regen cycle the first few times it happens. Can't be positive but that is what causes the most heat from these trucks.

Now that I think about it I got them hanging all over underneath my truck. I pulled off at least 5 when I was working on my gooseneck hitch. And I saw more hanging from the tranny and engine compartment.
