I will give this a shot, my 06 6L & both of my 08 6.4 L,s had a burnt rubber smell, after checking all over the engine on all 3 trucks there were large rubber bands lying on the turbo, turbo,s after removing them, the smell went away. There were rubber bands all over the place on my 06 - maybe auxiliary power
