I recently purchased a completely stock 04 6.0 with 125k miles on it. Never had a tune or anything. I put together a rough list of everything i want to do with it. I planned on pulling every so often but mostly taking it to the track. I was wondering if anyone on here could give me and estimate on the type of power outputs I could make and if I'm missing anything important. And yes I'm aware that some of the prices may be off a little bit. I was just going off of what i found. Any help is greatly appreciated.

There are far better turbo options out there, also stay far away from the airdog 2.

Also no need for the ficm, it's the same as stock but comes with a fancy cover

I think a 30 nozzle would be a good match up. If your not daily driving you could go 100 IMO but a lot of members here that know more that will chime in! Also regulated return from strictly diesel is nice. Not sure how sinister a is but some of their other stuff I haven't liked! Also can't remember what all was on the list but a FICM tune and insight are things I would consider also.

Sounds like you are on the right track. Make sure to do plenty of research before pulling the trigger on anything. Take your time and do it right the first time and you will save yourself a lot of time/money.

Here are a few other things to look into.

Standard Updates: stand pipes, dummy plugs, turbo feed/drain, etc
Maybe look into a BPD Oil cooler... or plan to maintenance your cooling system.
Get a coolant filter
Do a really good coolant flush and switch to ELC coolant (like cat ec1). Flush before doing the whole head stud job.
Make sure to use ford OEM gaskets
At that power level I would also get oring heads
GET A MONITOR AND GAUGES! Edge CTS with pyro and fuel
Get an SCT tuner and plan to buy custom tunes

Now for the power adders. Assuming you don't plan on towing much this is what I would add/change about your list. (but its just my opinion). This should put you right around 600-700hp

205/75s
KC stage 3 68mm turbo
Upgraded HPOP (for a 2004 get the t500 from terminator engineering)
Upgraded intercooler (there are better options than banks)
WPE ported intake manifold
No Limit Fab air filter
BD Manifolds

Hit me up in an email. I can get you a good discount on a package deal

If I stay away from the air dog 2, what should I go with?
Any setup based off the automotive A1000 lift pump. They have become very popular recently and have proven far more reliable that the Air dog & FASS systems.

Marty's Diesel has a complete setup including a regulated return that is quite popular over on the army. I'm not sure how many people here use it. It's probably the setup I'm going to end up going with. That said, I believe Nate has a reg-return setup as well. I'm not sure if he has a lift pump & filter setup with his or not.

Ditch the idea of Banks. They are overhyped & overpriced. The whole idea behind the Banks product line is that you purchase a Banks Six Gun! tuner, it gives you an extra 170hp and 235 ft/lbs of torque, and a stupid amount of EGTs. If you watch the promotional videos, you'll be convinced that the more you dramatically stop to talk into a camera, the more power you'll make (but it isn't true...) From there, you have to buy everything else to bring the EGTs in check. It's a half-decent setup for those who don't want to put a lot of effort into their performance upgrades and just want more power & an empty wallet right away. I also have wondered if their R&D is solely focused on Cummins, and from there they find a way to mangle it onto other platforms (Powerstroke, Duramax, etc).

For intercoolers, I'd go with Mishimoto. If you look up "Mishimoto intercooler" you'll find a fairly recent discussion thread where one of the Johns goes to great lengths to explain the R&D put into the Mishimoto intercooler, and explains some of the things they did to make it work. It also has an unbeatable warranty. That said, if you find that thread, many other options come up as well that aren't Banks.

Ditch the idea of EVO gauges. Edge is putting out a new monitor called the CTS 2. If the quality is the same as the current Edge Insite CTS, then it'll be the monitor you want. As many gauges as you want all on one screen.

I wouldn't buy a mbrp exhaust I have one and I have had nothing but problems with it. Fit isn't very good.

Really? Mine fit perfectly. I removed the old exhaust and put the new straight pipe in, in less than 3 hours (would've been less if the downpipe clamp wouldn't have broken). I would recommend MBRP.
