I watched this video
on bulletproofing. if i but a 6.0l ill have him do it because its not to far away from me. If i was to get all this done i would have a reliable truck, we all agree? Now 5k for a truck that will last for a long time. I'm good with that, but my question is how much MORE would i have to put into it to give it a little extra speed? or Is any more speed worth it for the money? (please list parts + costs of them) thank you

Why not do everything yourself? He talks about Black Onyx head gaskets which suck, OEM is better.

If your in there doing all of that, its a great time for injectors and a turbo upgrade

I wouldnt be able to do it myself. Im not a gear head =/ all though i wish i could do it all myself. What does everyone think about investing in a cheaper 6.0l and getting it gorilla proofed like he says here

That's exactly what I did. When I was searching for my truck, I wanted to compromise between one cheap enough that I could still afford to bullet proof it, and one that did not have too many miles.

I actually got lucky, and found a super clean truck wtih 94k miles that had already been bullet proofed. The icing on the cake was that it was still a pretty good deal at $21,500. It had a lot of extras that I also liked, but I was able to sell my old daily driver and put the money in the bank, rather than bullet proofing it.

They are out there.

First step, stop listening to the powerstrokehelp.com guy. Critical here.

Find a competent shop in your area with a good knowledge and reputation working on the 6.0L trucks, and do your research here on the ORG.

Check link in my sig for detailed bullet-proofing.

Parts alone, using the OEM oil cooler, you're talking around $2500 to bullet-proof the truck: Studs, OEM HGs, EGR cooler solution, OEM oil cooler, MY weaknesses addressed.

From there its labor costs, Ford charges on average 28-30 hours of labor for a Cab-Off job. Get in with a shop and see what they will charge you.

As for speed, check out the performance link in my sig. Speed doesn't cost much with a studded truck (electronic tuning ~$420 - puts you with 425RWHP on tap). You can take that further with a little FICM tuning.

If you want more than that, I suggest you research the injector and turbo combinations, and figure out what level of power you want to be at, and come up with the list of supporting modifications from there.

Don't underestimate monitoring these trucks, again link in sig.

Any questions, let us know.
