Good Morning...Brand new to forum so heres my story: I have a 2005 F250 6.0 that gave me a crank no start the other morning. I had the code of fuel injector control module and glow pluge circuit 1,3,5,8. so i tested the FICM, and was getting super low voltage. opened the ficm and the board was fried. I have replaced the ficm, reading 48 volts now on the pin closest to the driver side. No more codes. Starts very rough. In park, it is very slow to rev up, and here the turbo winding loudly. When I put it in Drive, it rolls slowly with the idle, but the gas pedal is absolutely non responsive, as if i wasnt even pushing it down. My batteries were pretty shot, so I installed 2 brand new. Replaced all glow plugs. No abnormal smoke or anything. Possible sensor? Fuel injectors? Im at a loss so any advice would be great!

first off, :ORG welcome: As far as your problem goes, to me still sounds a bit fuel related. Like the exact symptoms of a FICM going bad, but since that's replaced...if it were me, I'd throw in a few bottles of RevX and see where it gets you. I've heard of running on a bad FICM for awhile will start to cause your injectors to fail prematurely. Just my .02, hope it helps

If you don't have a EGR delete I'd check the condition of the EGR valve.

I pulled my EGR valve out yesterday. It had some black soot, very dry, and not too bad. I cleaned it all up and put it back in. I was able to operate the valve manually

Have you tried pulling any codes on it? Are you positive your FICM connections are tight? I've seen some that I "thought" were tight and felt it, but had the exact symptoms. Still tested at 48V, but truck ran really rough with no power. Went to pull the FICM again and the middle plug fell off. Double check your connections and try to get it on a code reader.

1,3,5,8 is not a single plug on the FICM either, just FYI. It's an easy finger to point, but those 4 injectors do NOT share the same plug on the FICM.

mdub707, thank you for your input. while installing the new FICM, I did have trouble with the plugs for a bit, as there is not much slack to get plugged in underneath the FICM. Im pretty sure they all snapped in, but I could be wrong. I guess there is possibillities of bending a pen while plugging the harness as well correct? I have the edge evolution which tells me my DTC codes... is this thorough enough? Does this tell me ALL codes? If yes, I am getting no more trouble codes.

The Edge will tell you trouble codes, but it wont do as good of a job as say AutoEnginuity or a high end scanner. I would start there though, see what you get.

A bent pin is possible, but I think you'd have to work pretty hard to make that happen. The plugs slide in pretty straight. As long as they all "clicked" they should be good. I usually go back through and try to slide them down without hitting the clip to see if they slide back off. If not, you know they're clipped in. They can definitely be tricky.

Thanks again! I will check the connections of the FICM after work today, as well as try to get my hands on a higher end scanner. I will update my findings when complete

Wow.. Im at a loss for words because you (mdub707) hit the nail on the head! unbolted my FICM, and the center plug fell right out. Plugged it in, and bam! Runs like a champ! Thank you so much for your input! Saved me alot of money troubleshooting things that werent even wrong!
