Looking for some help with standpipes. I’m on my 3rd set in 12 months I keep blowing the o rings. I’ve replaced with AVP updated one but they keep failing, just curious about what could be causing this and if I should just get the motorcraft ones. I keep using the avp because they warranted them each time. Thanks in advance. 2006 6.0.

Get Motorcraft and use a good assembly lube on the o rings during install.

Thanks for the tip with the assembly lube. I’ve just been letting them sit in clean oil and putting them in.

Oil is usually fine but since you're having issues I'd go the extra step.

Sharp edge on the branch tube, and you are cutting the oring when it is installed

Do not soak the rings in oil -- they only need oiled just before installation -- the rings can swell from being in oil, that is part of how they 'seal'
