Only when pulling a trailer in hot weather boost will drop to 8 psi from over 20-25 intermitantly while under a load

never does this without trailer

The hotter it is the less frequent the boost will return if at all.....once outside air cools off the less frequent the problem shows.....might drive for hours just fine in nightime when cool out

Runs fine in the cool weather... boost fine ....tows as fast as you want with ease

thanks
Tony

You might try scanning on live data and watch the ebp, both Iat and maff readings both when hot and when cool see if there is any major difference. The pcm may be changeing the fuel delivery to compensate for some reason.

Sounds to me like your VGT Control Valve is on its way out. It could definitely be something else as stated above.

The only way to know for sure is to monitor the engine using something like an Edge Insight CS/CTS or ScanGuageII, or a DashBoss if you have an iPhone/iTouch :thumb:

You should have a monitor anyway as the factory gauges are simply insufficient for this engine. It requires far more monitoring than what the factory provides. The gauges on the dash are nothing more than dummy gauges.

Heres a link to a few great threads about the 6.0...
