Alright, since nobody else has done it yet, I guess it's up to me to start this one. That way we can get back to "on topic" in the "what did you do" thread  No topics in particular required.........if it doesn't take off I'll kill it, otherwise I figure it may help wrangle in a couple of the other threads. Up to you guys though.

So there's the awkward start haha.....

Got a salvage hood and fender coming, same color (to avoid a paint and body shop). The truck also had the Recon lights on it which I liked, but unfortunately the passenger side was damaged in the accident. He said he tried to contact the place he got them from and they won’t sell just one side so I opted for some plain stock replacements. Ordered the Eagle Eyes brand from 1A Auto. Will try some LED bulbs maybe for some extra light output. Last, my plan is to take the bumper and grill off of my truck to do the conversion. Then later, I will probably buy the parts to put back on mine.

I haven’t mentioned this yet, but I started to have the dreaded squeak noise that comes from a lifter beginning to fail. Before anyone suggests it could be a belt or pulley, believe me, I’ve checked thoroughly and besides that, all of that stuff was replaced a couple years ago. So buying the KR was not only to hard to pass up, but was also a backup plan until my 05 can be fixed. Eventually, I may actually do some homogenization of both trucks. I like the color of both, but the green on this KR is super nice. Also I love the KR interior. But I like the more modern dash in the 05 with the integrated TBC and other changes. Plus the frame and drivetrain on the 05 is solid as could be with all the engine upgrades and stuff I’ve done.

That sucks :( I'd get a mechanic's stethoscope or a long piece of 1/4" hose and listen to each cylinder around the injector area. You should be able to locate at least the area in which it's coming from.

So i got a oil pressure warning and am down about 3Q of oil.... no idea why. Im sure my HG is getting worse, this may be the issue, IDK. but i rfilled it last week and been good since. I havent done any extensive testing yet as the truck runs fine.

But I did pick up a 140K 6.4 Trans. Can someone point me to threads of people using it in a 6.0? I remember there being some stipulation like using a 6.0 TQ Conv or something. Thanks.

Well fellas I jumped ship. Hope I'm not casted out for it. Bought a used Ram 2500. Just couldn't find a good deal on a Ford. So saw this one last night and swooped in to buy it today. View attachment 792103

Nah, this is a looker for sure. I have rented a few Rams and Id have to have the mirrors up all the time, Just not a fan of them down and having to adjust them every time i flip em out. the New 2023/24 model mirrors look really cool, maybe theyll be retrofitable. Im a huge fan of this model year Ram so good buy. ! Congrats!

6.4 Flex plate and T/C - 8 bolts
6.0 Flex plate and T/C - 6 Bolts

So, either swap converters or flex plates.

Let's see some pics of the transmission!

Also, perhaps create another thread?
Mehh, i dont need a new thread, just a quick question, i remember @backhoebill ill stating it was essentially the same trans
since his had one from a 550 or something, just the TQ or something was off. thanks for the input.

The reason I suggested a new thread is so that you could ask questions to the whole community (not everyone looks here). Also it would be interesting to watch your project and others could benefit from your experience later on.

You don't have to, just a thought.

The only differences I know of are:
-Flexplate and T/C bolt/nut pattern as stated above
-and deeper pan (6.4L, won't be an issue)

Correct. Just get a 6.0 torque converter and it goes right in

Thanks! One of the only things I don't care for so far is the mirrors. I miss the Ford mirrors for sure. I've seen the new mirrors and personally didn't think they look that good. Just my opinion.

What a horrible thing for the folks in that Kia. Looks to be a brake rotor still attached. I guess the lugs were tight!

I can't imagine what it was like to be in that Kia, either.

Usually, if the hub bearing fails, the caliper usually keeps the wheel on, so I didn't even consider that it would have failed like that. It might explain why it took so long for the pickup to stop.

A guy showed that to me on Sunday. Holy smokes that must have been scary!! And, then to add insult to injury, the tire smacks them on the butt on the way out LOL

My pride and joys - must really like the 6.0 . One bone stock (white) one a money pit - of modifications (red) with no regrets
