Alright, since nobody else has done it yet, I guess it's up to me to start this one. That way we can get back to "on topic" in the "what did you do" thread  No topics in particular required.........if it doesn't take off I'll kill it, otherwise I figure it may help wrangle in a couple of the other threads. Up to you guys though.

So there's the awkward start haha.....

Evening or morning gents. Still haven't bought a truck. Wife is really reigning me in on pulling the trigger. I prefer the '22 over the new '23 body style. Been warm and then cold here again. Working as usual. How everyone is doing good.

when it isnt we make adjustments.
plan to get the suburban on the road first as i HAVE a trans for it already then i can spend time tinkering with the truck to get it dialed in again but on my budget and abilities it will likely take a while to get it back.
my eldest son just bought an 18 and sold his 12 and its looking really nice.
i keep trying to get him to trade me but so far no luck :D

Bringing the electric cars back into the discussion...

"Two suspects are in custody today after stopping to charge their car.

After fleeing from a burglarized store where the suspects stole a pair of gaming systems in a Tesla, the pair had to stop and charge the get-a-way vehicle. Gwinnett County police found the suspects, along with firearms, two pounds of a substance believed to be marijuana, and the stolen gaming systems."

Not so much of a quick getaway when you have to spend 20 minutes to fill it up.

Or you are dumb enough not to have a full charge or full tank of fuel before doing the deed.

Pick your subheading.

  • Cars are starting to fight back.
  • It's important to use jack stands.
  • German cars are heavy, and tough.

I guess for that guy 13 was definitely an unlucky number. Too bad he lost his lost his life but if you live life as a scumbag that happens sometimes.

Hey y'all. Been forever since I've been on. Life got in the way. I got a new phone and someone started a convo with me. ...a particularly helpful someone. My new phone gave me a notification. I had to reset my password to get in to answer. Seemed crappy to not say "hi" on the disc thread.

Hi!

Despite my abrupt departure, don't think that I wasn't missing folks. Patriot, Sparky, JG, Z, corey, night, and a whole bunch of you that might still be around. I didn't ever go long without thinking of you. Sparky... If only I had words.

I can't say that I'll be a fixture here. ...but I'd like to interact as I can.

Dan
Good to see you Dan. WE sure missed our Org librarian.

Well fellas I jumped ship. Hope I'm not casted out for it. Bought a used Ram 2500. Just couldn't find a good deal on a Ford. So saw this one last night and swooped in to buy it today.

Not planning on getting rid of my truck anytime soon considering the potential and the time/money I've invested into it. However, I am debating on a third vehicle so my wife can drive the economy car and I can have another 4wd that rides better and gets better fuel mileage than my 8.8 mpg truck... Really considering something like a suburban or avalanche or cherokee (wife could drive that). But among those 3 vehicles, the suburban would be the best bang for the buck, and cheap too. Who knows... haha

Still would love to build a soft top for the flatbed for those times I want to haul something in poor weather. Kind of like a military personnel carrier, but without seats..

Well guys, just thought I'd check back in. I'm going to look at the King Ranch tomorrow that my buddy was offering. They've been holding the truck still and said they were kicking around the idea of fixing it and selling it. They actually know someone who owns a body shop and they had an offer to fix it with the cost of parts only. They are willing to try and still do that, and then sell it to me still. So I might be able to get it fixed with the cost of parts only and come away with it for cheap!!! Probably will do the 05 facelift while I'm at it. Will keep everyone posted.

Well everyone, looks like I will be the owner of the 04 King Ranch. Went and test drove the truck. Tire was rubbing badly on the bumper when making LH turns due to the bumper being messed up. But otherwise, the truck cranked and ran good. I brought my Scan Gauge just to monitor everything. Temps were good, all though I wasn’t able to really get it out on the main road and push it due to the bumper. FICM and voltages looked good. Engine does have some oil leaks (per usual 6.0 stuff). But they said they never have to add oil between oil changes so that’s good enough for me. Injectors were done in spring of 2022 with new Ford injectors. They said the truck was “bullet proofed” a while back. I could see the EGR cooler still in place so I’m assuming it’s blocked off. Truck also has stock exhaust so much quieter then mine. The King Ranch seats are in decent shape. The back seats are excellent. Front is dry and cracking but overall, no tears or rips. Only other known issue is the shifter indicator is broke. It doesn’t move so it always says it’s in neutral. After discussing the repairs, they agreed to $2500 down, I start sourcing parts (fender, hood, bumper, headlights, grill for 05 facelift) and they will have there friend do the work. They also told me that the wreck caused the leaf spring pack alignment pin to shear. They showed me the alignment report and it was barely knocked out of alignment. The mechanic believes they can loosen the shackle and it would simply line back up. They can put a bolt through where the pin was and it would be good to go. I’m not as familiar with the front ends on the older trucks with the leaf springs so I’m just taking their word on that part. Maybe some of you with the older suspension setup can enlighten me a little more on that. After the work is done, I will pay them another $2500 and I take the truck. So $5k plus parts (roughly $6k all together)
