Alright, since nobody else has done it yet, I guess it's up to me to start this one. That way we can get back to "on topic" in the "what did you do" thread  No topics in particular required.........if it doesn't take off I'll kill it, otherwise I figure it may help wrangle in a couple of the other threads. Up to you guys though.

So there's the awkward start haha.....

holy chit balls 29k? get out of here with that garbage
This lot is notoriously high on everything, i saw it when i left out this morning and out of curiosity looked it up..... my jaw dropped. Heck, that can't be to far off what it cost new.
For what that truck is the price is high. I paid that much for my ex but it was a 05 Eddie Bauer with fully bullet proofed 6.0 (plus some nice extras) with only 49k miles and in showroom condition

Y'all think I can get my front tires off with that stock jack and do my brakes. Times are rough to buy a decent jack.

If you can make sure to block/jack stand the truck for your own safety. Would hate to see you get hurt.

So I have the trailer all loaded up, and am planning on a 3 day camping and shooting and DRIVING trip.. when to go to my parents house for dinner, since our power is out, due to storms... my God damn truck won't start. Icp is 1500, and ficm v is.48.5... but ficm sync is 0

So dammit, how do I test crank and cam sensors... both are new..... changed crank sensor in summer when I was replacing ac compressor.. and changed cam sensor a couple years ago.... PLZ HELP

PM me with your email and will send you pages from PCED manual on both sensors

Thank you brother.
If I can figure it out in the am, you are a life saver

Email with pages sent, good luck. Feel your pain spent 5 days camping in a dealership while they replaced HPOP on Ex.

So I'm working on the truck, instead of camping.. pulled cam sensor, and the sensor spins. Is this normal? Also had a torn o ring. The one I have in the garage, fro. When I replaces this sensor a few years back, does not spin. So I've put it back in. Truck was no start this morning, and now it's firing up very normally. I had also wiggled the connectors under the ficm, and some wire harness. Not sure at this point if I have a wire chaffing problem, bad connection somewhere , or if this cam sensor was the problem.

Cant answer our question on the turning CMP, but glad you have your truck running hopefully it stays that way.

To bad you missed going camping. We still have a couple of months until the snow melts in the mountains before we can go camping.

Think you are on the correct track about a loose connection and or chaffing problem. Good luck sorting that out.

Last guy was going to get his truck paid off, but he got a pink slip instead because he decided to steal lottery tickets.

I do all kinds of stuff, depending on the employee and what they are into.
Put tires on vehicles, send them on vacations, get them yeti coolers or nice bbq's, 70in flat screens. Depends on the employee.
I've only been in business 6 years though, I'm only 27 lol. Haven't been around long enough to have a guy for 15yrs
j.mo - we need more employers with your type of attitude. Lucky for me I work for one like that - just returned to the company after 2 1/2 years working elsewhere and received company hat, coat, shirt, water bottle, new laptop, new desk and lots of welcome back from all of the employees. Companies that care for their employees are rare in this day and age - most treat their employees as a tool and don't give two sh*&^ about them.

To bad the one you had to fire one employee for theft, he obviously didn't get it. I have had to fire an employee for stealing a $1 cookie our of the shipping area - guy was making over $70k/year and steals a $1 cookie. I can understand your position.

I'm way behind reading here... I'll get caught up at some point.
Having fun out on the trails with the four wheelers on Sunday. Long story short, I installed an extended thumb throttle for the wife because she has a hard time reaching it with her small hands. Her glove got pinched between the thumb throttle and hand grip and she went for a ride through the woods. I looked back and saw the four wheeler flying sideways through the air after it hit a tree with the left front tire. Then I heard her scream. Thank God she is just banged up, bruised and sore and not worse. Never been so scared. I've been in fear for my own life but that is nothing. And she is too stubborn to let me take her to the hospital.
Hope your wife is OK and the pain is subsiding. ATV is fixable broken wife's are not as easy to repair.

Regarding Toren302's rant - there are some real bad people out there that pretend to be tech's. Feel bad for him having to clean up that sh## show.

Like the others have said I wrench on mine due to costs of shops where I live as well as having to many repairs that I have to "touch up" when I get home with truck from the shop. I also take full responsibility if I screw it up. Also as stated I have the shop manuals, PCED manuals and wiring manuals for both of my Ex's and the forum to add to my knowledge. I also know my limits and there are certain things that I will send the truck to the shop for - down side to that is other than a rear end shop I am currently on the hunt for a good diesel shop again. Wish I lived closer to Toren302's shop (and no international border between me and his shop).

I'm not happy to spend 28k.....but she needs a newer vehicle with Warranty, they come with a lifetime powertrain warranty these days.

I called the bank myself and got 2.7% for 78 months opposed to 4.4% with ford calling the bank.
Also I'm not trading in the old one, probably going to sell it outright.
Nice set of wheels for the wife - life is good. I have always been impressed by the flex and you got a really nice one.

Bottom line is if you are happy (even though you stated not happy with price) and your wife is happy good for both of you. congrats on the new vehicle.

How messed up would it be to see this diving around
I would hate to drive it where I live. To many drivers from asia here and they have enough problems avoiding my Ex, with that unit it would just guarantee I would be hit.

@john galt saw on news that commiefornia has over 500" of snow. Better start building an ark for when the melt comes - don't bother loading any liberals in the ark.

I love working in California. Nothing like driving down, hitting the border and being harassed for what you have in your truck or what you're doing in California. Almost as bad as trying to get into Canada lol.
You are coming into Canada the wrong way - just walk across the border and say you are a refugee and you are welcomed

It would take the right buyer though.i know my buddy's dad has a '15 platinum with over 50k on it and dealer trade in was 50k or something close to that.

Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
Dealer trade in is always minimum 5g low to leave room for their mark up to resell. Traded my exploder in for first Ex and price dealer gave was 5g low. I know cause saw the ad in paper when they put it up for sale. Knew it was my exploder just from ad, matched it perfect

Real good friends help their buddy get 50-55k out of their truck so their buddy doesn't take a bath while you make money.

Very good point, or at the least share the profit. I liked the original post but that was the business man side of me - wife always gives me sh!t for being to business orientated and forgetting to be human. To many years in management coupled with to strong work ethic. We all have our cross to bear.

Made it down here alright, only used 1/2 tank of fuel and my truck is saying 16 MPG. Not to bad for stop and go on the freeway.

My only issue is that the lock on my canopy wouldn't un lock even though I never locked it... My co worker didn't pack his bag in right so it smashed up against the lock and bent the little thing that closes it so my boss and I pulled the glass while he tried to un lock it and we finally got it. Guess I'm getting paid to fix my lock now lol.
Good thing you didn't het that glass mounted 100%. Things work out some ways for a reason
