Alright, since nobody else has done it yet, I guess it's up to me to start this one. That way we can get back to "on topic" in the "what did you do" thread  No topics in particular required.........if it doesn't take off I'll kill it, otherwise I figure it may help wrangle in a couple of the other threads. Up to you guys though.

So there's the awkward start haha.....

Can anyone pull an OASIS report? Going to look at an ‘06 F350 since someone ran a redlight and took out my ‘86 6.9 IDI.

VIN: 1FTWW31P56EA58140

I really, really appreciate it! I’ll hook you up with a few $ on PayPal!
Thanks all.

The truck is actually at a Ford dealership. The sales guy I spoke with on the phone had no idea what an OASIS Report was. Admittedly, he's rather new to the job. The Service Manager wasn't there (it was near closing time) so he said he'd follow-up on it.

Here's the CarFax

I went for a test drive with the wife riding shotgun that same night because we were bored and had to go into town anyway. The sales guy was with another customer so they just threw me the keys and off I went.

There was the sound of something metal hitting something under the truck but I couldn't think of what it could be while driving. It wasn't loud, and it didn't sound heavy. It didn't concern me too much considering my 6.9 makes plenty of noises, but since I was on back-roads (we live in a very rural area) I pulled over to crawl under the truck with a flash light to try to identify the source.

I wasn't able to find it, but I did notice a lot of oil on the back of the engine and the transmission. That, coupled with some twine being used to hold the fender liner in place was enough for me to stick a fork in it. If you're rigging things as simple as a liner...what other things were skimped-out on? Plus all that oil...

I drove my 6.4 for 5+ years and was very used to how it drove and shifted. The 6.0 (this one, anyway) was nothing like it. I actually liked the 6.0 more because it has a rough-around-the-edges feel to it. The same thing I love about my 6.9. The 6.0 had more power and better shifting than my 6.9, obviously, but I couldn't drive down the road and feel it shift and think, "that's how it should feel", or, "that's not right.."

I'm going to keep my eyes open for an '06 or '07 CCLB King Ranch. I'll "settle" for a Lariat if after 6 months to a year I can't find my King Ranch.

When I do find it I'll be spending the $ to have it gone over by someone knowledgeable with them. I can't wait! I have the fever!

@j.mo your truck is probably in a different price range than I'm looking for. While I'd love to have one that was "done" mechanically, I'm looking for one that's closer to the stock look.

I'm sure if you actually tried to sell your truck it wouldn't take long to find a buyer!

I have one of these for my Doberman when he's in my wife's car. Works great!
I fold the back seats up and put the metal things down. Then I place a memory-foam dog bed that fits perfectly in the space. Kaiser would probably ride in the front seat but he's gotten used to always having the whole back of a vehicle for himself.

The exception being in the '86, which has a bench in the front. He takes 2/3 of it lol.

I take my dog everywhere with me. If he sees the truck keys he knows what time it is. I had to walk away from a couple really nice trucks that had the captain seats in the back. Deal breaker!

Yes, the chrome is piquing my interest.

My mirrors have a part where the chrome is coming off and I was thinking about replacing them.

I like the larger mirrors but I don’t like the look of the 2008-2016 style on the truck. They “don’t fit” to me.

My 2008 had heated mirrors but you turned them on and off with a button. I (embarrassingly) spent 10 minutes or so trying to find the button to turn them on / off in my 6.0 only to find out they come on automatically.

If I were to get the 2017+ style mirrors would I be able to retain that functionality? Maybe a stupid question...?

It's *freezing* here in Florida. Going to be 47 degrees tonight.

:bolt:
Your pictures of the mountains are making me jealous! We typically go snowboarding every year with my wife's sister and brother-in-law in Spokane Washington. They live there and we'd stay with them for a month+. They have a bad-*** house in the mountains!

We'd hit mountains in the surrounding areas, whichever mountain was getting the most powder.

We want to move out that way so bad, but our families are here and our careers are *really* taking-off right now. One day, perhaps...

Only thing we have really going for us here (family and memory-making aside) is that we have a year-round boating season, short travel to great fishing locations, and we get great use out of our center console. :)

2 Weekends ago we went out 60+ miles into the Gulf for Red Snapper while the season is open.

Last weekend we went Scalloping.

This coming weekend we're going back out for more Red Snapper.

The weekend following that we're racing in either Cordele Georgia (Crisp Motorsports Park) or Kinston Alabama (South Alabama Speedway). I can't remember which track my dad was wanting to hit again because we go to both often enough. It'll be fun either way. :)

After that, it's back-and-forth to Alabama with the race trailers to load-up everything from my Grandparents house before we put it on the market. Not looking forward to that one.

The 6.0 has been, and will continue to be, getting a workout!

haha

If you can read this I'm never... :)
We went out about 70 miles into the Gulf on Sunday. We didn't get into any Red Snapper like we hoped we would...but...we caught a few Grouper. Some nice-sized Black Sea Bass, a few Spanish Mackerel (trolling) and threw back more Grunts than I care to count.

The water was GLASS. I can't remember the last time I saw the Gulf that calm.

Larger Version of the same Image.

Here's a video of how calm it was while Trolling.

Here's what it looked like from the crow's nest / upper station.

And we came across a couple pods of Dolphins.

And the ONE time I didn't bring my cast net.

I took TON's of pictures and video while trolling / drinking. I just can't get over how ****ing beautiful it was. Jeez!

A new house in Florida.
Nice! Which region?
Am I losing my mind or did we used to have a thread titled (something along the lines of) “What Did You Do To Your 6.0 Today?”

Regardless, I’m out here cleaning my IPR Coolant Filter for the first time (500 miles since install) and I’m happy to have this installed.

I thought all of my flushes would have removed all of the BS from my system.

When draining the coolant from my radiator when I was doing the Oil Cooler a couple of weeks ago I had some crap on the plug (Mishimoto Gen2) and the confidence in my flushes took a hit.

Today confirmed that I still had some crap in my system. At least this catches the coolant before it gets to my new Oil Cooler!

I tried to get there from an old notification I had but it said it was deleted.
Thanks! Sorry for any confusion. I must have tapped the wrong thing.

Looks like I'm going to have to buy Injectors.

I'm not chasing horsepower with this truck. With that said, can anyone offer a recommendation?

I'm guessing Ford OEM Reman is the best bang for the buck?
I'm thinking about using these as, if I'm reading correctly, they're brand new.

https://www.injectorsdirect.com/product/6-0-2003-2007-oem-new-fuel-injectors/

Due to dropping $2.5K on the truck already and having a 4 month old daughter, I'll likely have to do the one dead one and then knock-out another one here and there as $ permits.

Is there any "OMG Don't Do That!" reasons why I shouldn't do them 1 at a time as $ permits?
