Should I go with 5% all around or stick with 15 or 10%? How dark is it at night inside the cab? I am not going to tint the windshield but there is a tint strip on it now and that will stay on there after i redo my tint.

I have limo tint on the rears. Its great during the day. Sucks at night.

my truck is wrapped in 5% tints nice during the day but as soon as the sun starts going down i cant see a god dang thing out of my windows have to roll them down to even look in my mirrors 5%s are pointless at night might as well spray the windows black

Like I said its a PITA to tow with anything darker than 20% on the side windows. Just MO though cause I like to be able to see everything when I turn and back up.

I left the back windows alone and did a match on the front windows so they all looked the same.

As mentioned, going that dark is worthless at night.

Ive limo tinted several of my cars and its a little difficult to see at night out the sides, and it can give you tunnel vision at night too. I love it in the day though. Kinda vehicle specific depending on the interior color and cab size and if you want to deal with it. I did 15% all around my current truck(zero tint from factory) and wifes escalade (15 front and 35 rear over factory tint.) Her last vehicle, a Trailblazer SS, had limo all around includeing over rear factory tint and had a black interior....it was real dark. Her escalade is a parchment interior and reflects a lot of inside light, so it feels lighter than my ford with a dark grey interior and the same tint.

All that being said, I strongly recommend 15% all around on the CC SD's. And its the tint I will likely keep doing on all my vehicles. Almost dark enough you cannot see in from most angles, and is easy to see other cars at night.

Llumar is the best brand.

The visor is up to you.

I wouldnt say that much. The ONLY problem I have with my window tint is when I am backing up at night.

On my red truck I have 20% all around and its nice to see out of. My black truck had 5% and a tinted windshield, It was awesome while traveling, So cool and dark inside the truck.

You know i been kicking the idea around about the tinted windshield, any issues can you tell me about?

I think a tinted windshield is illegal in most if not all states, and I'm not sure what state your in but I would check your state laws.

I had 20% over factory tint (still do) on my rears and 20% on the fronts and 1" below the "AS1" mark on either side of the windshield and got stopped by the state trooper meter maids and got a ticket for tint too dark on the fronts (darker than 35%) and fo having the windshield visor tint below the "AS1" mark. He stopped me for no other reason than he felt like my front windows were too dark. When he came up o my truck he was carrying his little meter. It was middle of the afternoon.

This is in Texas and I don't know the laws in the rest of the states, but it is worth checking into. I had to not only pay a fine, but had to prove to the judge that the tint was brought to legal. A real PITA. Cost me $150 for the fine and $90 for removal of the tint and retint to legal (35%) and the tint guy fixed the visor for free.

It all depends on where u live and exterior lighting also. In my younger days I had double layer 5% all around and a 35% on the windshield. That was every vehicle I owned until I moved to nc. I loved it like that buy I would not be able to see anything outside here in nc compared to Miami. There's a million more street lights down there compared to up here. And that did read 0.00 on a tint meter, lol. I agree with what most ppl are sayin. 5% will be a little difficult at night. Lights are easy to spot but u may have to roll the window down sometimes. Backing up isn't a problem if you have good reverse lighting. HIDs take care of that.

I am from South Tampa...I roll around in 5% tint all day, my patrol vehicle has 15% tint all around also. S FL is somewhat tint friendly unless you roam around "all murdered out" with Lil Wayne on blast, then you can expect to get fcuked with.

I loved having the windshield tinted and I plan on doing this one too. Anything over factory tint is illegal in Iowa but I dont care. I must have had 50% on my old truck, It came from florida and was blacked out.

Ditto. I think the factory is around 20%. Not super dark and it is illegal here in mn (50% is max for fronts) and I haven't been stopped once for it. It's been on about three years now. I think the tint is actually 23% or something. Close enough to not be able to tell at a glance

its hard to gauge factory. Its in the glass.....and has different reflective propoerties. thats why aftermarket tint of the same % is usually harder to see in. Either way, if the tint shop has a light meter, which they should, see what the back is and do the math tp match.
