I thought my truck had the offroad package but now I'm not sure. I only got one tire spinning. But I believe the offroad package includes the limited slip. Anybody know if there is any way to tell if a truck has the offroad package? Anything to look for?

Look at the code on the rear axle tag. If it has an "L" in it the you have limited slip.

or you can look at the axle code on the door jamb sticker and then look in your owners manual to find out what it is

or the sticker that was on the window when new, if you still have it.

My 6.0 has limited slip but it usually one-wheel peels. My 7.3 limited slip works better.

I read a post on here somewhere, a guy said they (Ford) started taking one of the clutch discs out of the LS because people were complaining about on road manners.

I dont have the sticker cuz I bought it used but the axle code looks to say L 73? and the tag on the door says axle-3L? Any ideas? couldn't find it in the manual

I wish they would put it back in then. One tire spinning is useless to me.

Yes, u have limited slip with 3.73 ratio.

Whoever posted that said that a disc could be added to tighten things back up.

Thanks for all your help guys. Now... any ideas? Should I take it back to ford or what? I have also heard that there is an additive to put in the axles with limited slips/lockers? Should I just change the fluid and add the additive?

It couldn't hurt but I'm not sure how much good it will do.
How many miles on the truck?

The fluids in there should still be fine. Maybe one of the tech will chime in about tightening it up.
