Anyone ever tried to remove the seat bottom from the center console. I need more boom than what I could get from a small sealed box behind the rear seat. Wanting to fit a DD audio 35 series in a 10" or 12". Going to require a larger ported box. I would really like to keep the upper arm rest portion because I use it a lot.

I'm using just the brackets at the bottom and mounting those to the bottom of a huge ported box for one Type R 15. Box is built and sitting in my garage. Sub is bought and siting next to it. All I have to do is get the box covered in matching leather (with a cushioned top) and mount the brackets. It will be exactly the same height as the current console. No more storage there, or cup holders. I've still got the two glove compartments and the slide out cup holders, though.
