Hey guys just trying to get some input to see how much it would cost and how hard it would be to put 3.73's in my 96. I dont pull a whole lot besides 4 sleds up the mountain. Seeing if it would be worth it to switch over to 3.73 to gain MPG if its cost effective. thanks

Not enough gain in MPG to bother with just a gear swap. If you want to get your RPM down, a full SD axle swap with 3.73's would be the way to go. 35" tires would make the final drive about the same.

^totally agreed. You'll never make your money back. My 4.10 truck w/ 35s gets 18mpg in the city. You AREN'T going to beat that unless you have a 5spd you might get 19-20mpg city. still not worth the 1000s of $$ and hard work to do the swap.
