The converter will lock in 2nd gear stock if it's under the right cirumstances such as if you lock it into 2nd and drive until the rpms are to high then it will lock to bring them down some. Or if you are pulling a heavy load and it shifts down into 2nd but is still high in the rpm range. What are you trying to do?

Just put it in 4low and the lever in D. It'll do what it needs to do. There is really no point in holding it in one gear.

put in a manual lockup switch. IIRC its purple wire with yellow tracer or vice versa, in the tranny wiring harness. You'll need to tap into that wire run it to a switch and ground out the other side of the switch.

no the harness is on the driver side frame rail, you can trace it up to the wheel well and tap in up top.
