Found this shortly after posting the bully dog tuner.

This tune requires you to remove your ECM and ship to Canada.

Ya I noticed that to and assumed they are modifying something to change the audible characteristics of the exhaust sounds. Not sure why you would want a turbo diesel to rumble. I'm not a mechanic by any means, but changing it enough to create a rumble would worry me.

On a tuned/deleted truck this is all about how it sounds at idle. The tuning files can be set to change the VGT positioning on the turbine side of the turbo at idle. Some people don't like the OE style tuning that closes the VGT vanes causing the hiss when the motor is cold. When the motor is up to temp the VGT is opened more allowing more of the exhaust to "rumble". Some want the rumble on startup even when the motor is cold.

The only reason I could surmise why Ford would do this is to allow the EGTs to get the oil up to temp faster.
