I am working on a 2013 6.7 turbo just replaced no boost on gauge. No boost on forscan and it it seems silly to me to put another turbo in but the previous mechanic put the turbo in half assed just took the turbo out itself and left the back half in new turbo old shell

I think I'd make sure the turbo is solidly rebuilt. Then I'd inspect all the boots and tubes to make sure they are not torn or cracked. Moncern, if he 1/2-assed that, he may have not paid attention to the rest.
