I have a 2007 F250 with 6.0 with 135K on the odometer; MBRP Turbo back exhaust, Studs, EGR Delete kit and SCT programmer.
Running into a weird problem pulling 8K travel trailer (7K plus gear) up minor grades (Northeast Mississippi...Not the Rockies!). The engine seems to struggle maintaining speed (55/60 MPH) and ends up overheating for short periods of time. What will happen is it will seem to be pulling higher than normal RPM (gear or two downshift), the fan kicks in and boost goes to +/- 30lbs. Then the temp gauge will peg wide open. I can slow down to 35-45 MPH for a couple of minutes and it will cool down to normal. I'm NOT losing coolant. I've also noticed a fairly significant decrease in fuel economy (use to bump 20 mpg flat and level @ 68-70MPH, now @ 16.5-17.0 mpg). Rotella full synthetic every 7500 miles, fuel filters every other oil change and air filter as needed. This problem is intermittent. I tow in 65HP tow mode with firm shifts via SCT programmer. Any ideas?
