My IAT1 temperatures are not making sense. Went to Ford to buy a new MAF. Parts guys did not have one and said that none are available in US due to a "technical issue". It looks like Ford only sells a remanufactured MAF? New ones are not available through Ford? If I buy an aftermarket MAF do you guys have a brand that is reliable? This is not a hot rod truck. Just want a reliable sensor. Thanks in advance Ray

Unfortunately that is the case. The part is on backorder with no ETA. Apparently whoever is (or was) making these for Ford is having issues. They're extremely popular, as they were used on millions of different trucks (gas and diesel). The part number is 3L3Z-12B579-ARM.

However......There is a number which is available, but around $20 more. 6L3Z-12B579-A. It will come with a small piece of air cleaner housing for an F150, but it's at least available.

Thanks for the advice. I hope Ford changes the part number once they fix the "technical issue". In this situation I do not want to buy a Motocraft part and possibly buy a sensor with the current problem. I am looking for a high quality aftermarket part. I see Delphi has this MAF and it is a new, not remanufactured part (I actually work at Delphi in a different area). Does anyone have any experience with the Delphi MAF AF10129? Thanks again Ray

I'm pretty sure that my MAF is a Delphi on my '04. Been running it for over 70k. No issues.
