2005 King ranch Cluster display, Turbo psi is it not working ??

Hey all, Just bought a 05 King ranch super duty, with high miles, it did come with lots of maintanence history, reasonably well kept, starts everytime & runs. I am new to the Powerstroke diesel, sorry if this is lame, the cluster display has the Turbo guage (with psi) but doesnt move up at all, is it not working.? Also the engine oil temp guage also doesnt seem to go up whereas the guage with gear icon..goes up as engine warms up. Can someone pitch in let me know. Thanks.

Is it the gauge or a lack of boost?

If the truck isn't a total dog, it is likely the gauge or the sensor.

If the truck is sluggish, you actually have no boost. There are several things that could cause that.

I am new to this, it does seem to have the boost, when you step on the throttle at idle while stopped the front end does rock a bit, does it make sense.? Also should it not throw some codes if boost didnt function. Whats the best way to find out about this boost..perhaps only a after market monitor like Edge cts.?
Did you read the codes? What did you get?

Had the following codes, checked with snap on tool.
P0673 - Cyl 3 glow plug circuit
P0675 -Cyl 5 glow plug circuit
B1342 - Faulty control module (brake)
P1876 -Transfer case solenoid circuit fault
P1832 - Transfer case differential lock up solenoid circuit fault
When you say the oil temp sensor doesn't move, is it the one in your picture? If so that's oil pressure.

We also need to see some engine data. The CTS is ok, but expensive. Smartphone apps are the most economical. Torque Pro works well for an app to watch PIDs, but ForScan Lite is best. ForScan full version on a windows laptop is the best "bang for your buck" troubleshooting system.

We need MAP, EBP, and Baro at KOEO.

In the meantime:
  • Verify no tears or holes in MAP hose
  • No pluggage of MAP hose or nipple it attaches to (intake manifold)
  • No pluggage of EBP tube
  • EBP sensor itself is not plugged up at the sensing end

Might as well also post what the EOT,,ECT, TFT, IAT1, and IAT2 PIDs all are, but we need to see those numbers AFTER the engine has sat overnight for 12+ hours without the engine running.

Yeah i know the one in pic is for pressure, that works fine. the one on right side of cluster(sorry didnt cover in pic) isnt working..ie oil temp

Just for the sake of verifying i test drove another F350 Lariat that had No boost condition, i really felt the dog lol
I happy my trucks turbo works well..just the guage need to be figured out.

Great am gonna get all the above said values as i learn to use my head :), I do have a snapon reader, hope to make use of it. Also i am waiting for my SCTx4 to arrive.
My fault, only tdy I just took the truck for new tires install, after a warm up & running.. guages work perfectly incl turbo psi, starting from stop, revving at 2 k rpm the turbo builds to 10-15 psi, am so glad to see it working & oil temp goes up stays where it should be.
If it's an 05, it doesn't have an oil temp gauge.

The two gauges on the right side of the cluster are coolant temp and transmission fluid temp.

Oil temp is available on CAN bus to be read by Torque, Forscan, or other monitor, but isn't displayed on a dash gauge.

But, it is important to know your coolant temp (which isn't accurately shown on the dash gauge) and your oil temp (which isn't on a dash gauge at all). The relationship between the two can alert you to a potentially disastrous situation, like a clogged oil cooler, which often leads to EGR cooler failure. EGR cooler failure can lead to very expensive repairs.
