does anyone know if i pull out my egr valve and clean it and re oring it reinstal it. is there anything else that will have to be done. is it going to start throwing codes and lights and will the truck run after its reinstalled. i need some help with the correct proceduce on this matter. thanks

i have cleaned it twice on my 2005 without any issues. just make sure you do not get carb cleaner in the 2 ports under the flange.

call me stupid but i have never done this. where is the egr located and which two ports are you refering to exactly

it is in front of the oil filter in the intake held in by two 5/16 bolts. when you pry it out flip it over and you will see the ports.
