Cranking not starting

Changed the ipr, icp and cam sensor

Got it started by pulling up on the shifter

Now its back to not starting and only cranking

Going to run a injector buzz test tomorrow.

How do i check fuel pressure?

Could it be the shift interlock solenoid in the column?

Or neutral safety switch mounted on the tranny?

Any more ideas as to what it could be?

Is there any type of security feature that would stop it from starting?

I’d check fuel supply…. There’s not a chip that got switched to no start is there? Do you have FORScan?
If vehicle is in gear it won’t even let it turn over so I don’t think that’s your problem.

Ive got fuel getting to the bowl and its real clear so no problem getting to the bowl.

No chip that i know of, i bought it off a guy about a year ago.

Chip as in a tuner?

Ive got an obd II scanner coming tomorrow and I downloaded the forscan app for iphone

What tests should i run ?


Its a strange situation because all winter i had the can sitting while i was converting it to a camper, i started it every couple days and no issues at all.

All of the sudden about a week ago it just decided to not start.


I got it started the other day and it turned on and off about 4 times no problem… then all of the sudden its back to just cranking and not starting till my battery runs out then i have to put it on charge for a few hours

Chip as in something like a php hydra. You can set them up with a no start position to stop theft. If you don’t know about one you likely didn’t accidentally switch it.

Yea i dont have one.

i got it started a few times so it wouldnt make sense if there was one in the truck.
I really have no idea what it could be

How cold is it there? If you live anywhere close to me it’s been hot. But I was wondering about your batteries and glow plugs. If you don’t have enough rpm’s it won’t start. You can check that on FORScan.

I pulled codes

p1668 PCM and IDM communication error
B1232 PATS transceiver circuit fault
P0603 Power interruption on KAPWR
P1670 Electronic feedback signal not detected
P0113 IAT sensor circuit hight input

any ideas where to start?

So im stumped ….

i got the van running and it was running great for a day, shut it on and off about 15 times over about 24hrs….

i went to start installing my battery isolator so i started taking apart the fuse panel under the hood. I disconnected the battery before and connected everything back to normal.
I spliced into the running lights power wire.

Now i have a no start again…

Only thing i can think of now is maybe a ground issue ?
Also what is the round unit under the fuse panel under the hood?

Its round and has a vaccum line and a pigtail connector going into it

Also, i replaced the pcm and it fired up.. now not starting

Anybody ever experienced this happening from a bad pcm diode ? Located in #28 in the power distribution box under the hood
