The battery light on my 2001 superduty 7.3 stays on continuously. Does anyone know what the cause is? someone mentioned that a battery could be getting old?

Yes it is charging fine

Then have the batteries load tested. They must be disconnected to do so. How old are they?

If they pass start looking for chafed wiring

ok, i will do that. one battery is 1 year old the second is +3 years old.

I've always been told to replace both at the same time because the older weaker one will cause the new one to be at the same level as the old.

I second that. Replace both batteries at the same time or the older one will pull the newer one down with it.

Chances are the older battery is starting to do that.

Also check the usual simple things like corrosion on the connections and so on.
