Ive been reading on the forms here for a few years but haven't posted much but now i really need a little help. I have a 2000 7.3 F250. The only mods so far are an exhaust and edge evolution. If im driving normal i can see boost psi of up to 14. If i push on the go pedal any past that the boost falls to 1-4 psi and the truck looses tremendous power and rolls back smoke.

I made a boost leak checker from a pvc cap and air compressor fitting and pressurized the system to 40 psi and found no leaks.

I had a exhaust manifold leak and fixed it but that didnt help at all.

The ICP is around 480-500 at idle and 2800-3100 at WOT

Also unplugged the red line to the waste gate actuator and it seamed to be worst if anything. It would only build 5-8 psi of boost and dropped to 0-1 at WOT

Today when i first started the truck it was fine and would hit 20psi of boost on take off at WOT but then after driving for about 10 min the problem returned.

Im leaning toward wast gate actuator or maby even the turbo. What do you guys think?

Thanks in advance for the help!

PS if i misspelled anything or used incorrect grammar im sorry its not my strong point.

I have a rebuilt turbo with wastegate you could try out and see if it goes away. just pay shipping both ways. if you wanna keep it ill sell it to you as well. I would say its gotta be one of those two things as well, but I am pretty new to the 7.3 trucks as well.
