Hi guys,

thanks for letting me post, this is my first one. I just bought a 1999 f250 super duty 4x4 with a 7.3L powerstroke in it. coolant is getting into the oil through a bad head gasket. i just want to replace the whole engine since it has 266k on it.i have been looking in salvage yards for a runner. my ford is a late '99. can i just swap it out for any 99-03 7.3L turbo diesel? one guy told me to look on the passenger valve cover and find the #...mine is B250. i know there are A225s adn B235s out there. will these work for me? does it mess with the PCM if the valve cover #s are different or are all these interchangeable? does it matter if it comes out of a van instead of a truck?

Like i said, i wanna drop a running engine with less miles and have it work with less chance of conflicts or me screwing it up.

thanks! i appreciate the help and any other things i'm missing please let me know
