So I'm thinking on trading my 01 CCSB for a 97 CCSB. Both are 4x4 and my 01 has 203k and the 97 has 123k. They guy said my truck for his and 2 grand. It's a really clean truck but I don't know what's the difference between the 2 body styles. What I do know is that the fuel systems are different and that's about it. Any help would be great. Thanks guy.

Wait he wants you to pay him 2k? I dont think so..unless your truck has some issues and needs work i'd straight trade at the most.. OBS has smaller injectors, different turbo, mechanical fuel system.. smaller HPOP.. just saying..

No my truck for his truck and he pits up the 2 grand. Ok so there's a few things different. Is the 99-03 7.3 a better truck and what's all the talk about the 96-97 PCS stuff.

ohh lol the way you worded it made me go WTF.

Yeah that doesnt sound bad.

its not hard to upgrade an OBS reeallyy.. and you cant beat the way they look i'd take one in a heartbeat. plus forged rods, doesnt need a regulated return because the factory fuel system has one..

is it an auto or zf5?

Is this a 250 or a 350 you are trading for? A 250 will have a ttb front end (IFS) while a 350 will have a dana 60 (solid front axle). You have a solid front axle. Just something to think about.

It's a 250. I didn't know ford made an IFS on any of the 3/4 and 1 tons.

It's a POS hybrid setup. The axle pivots near the pumpkin but still has leaf springs.

Personally I prefer my SD over my OBS. Then again I bought my OBS because it was only $2k and I wanted the powertrain for a upcoming project.

yes fuel systems are different, smaller turbo on 97, but I LOVED my 97, it was great and a clean obs is HARD to find, so i'd say do it . 1 it has lower miles, and 2 you are getting some cash in hand.. all in all its a 7.3 you can't go wrong :thumb:
