So this might be a stupid question, I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to diesels, but I've noticed my truck, 1997 F-250 powerstroke/225k miles, never smokes at all, i've only seen it smoke when starting a burnout (barely any smoke) pulling a trailer at high elevation, or flooring it at high elevation. It also seems to run hot all the time, going constant highway speed will have the pyro at around 800-850. I was thinking if its running too lean it could cause it to run hotter. Is there an easy way to adjust fuel flow? or could it be a clogged hose? or am i just assuming things and this is normal? the truck was abused when it was stolen from us a few years back, so it cold possibly be an injection problem. please respond
