I’m brand new to this forum. I’ve been lurking to figure out an issue I have with hard shifts for a while, but I wanted to share the problem and hopefully get some advice.
My 96 f250 is shifting hard. A mech said it was throwing a neutral safety switch code and told me to replace it, which I did. It shifted super smooth for about 1000 miles then right back to the hard shifts. It has power and shifts under 2000rpm. I’ve replaced the VSS. Also replaced the ICP and the CPS for another issue with stalling. I don’t tow, it’s for light duty deliveries. Any ideas here?

Also are you running aftermarket LED tail lights ? Ford had some funny wire connections that when led tail lights were installed on OBD trucks the shifting got crazy. Super common on the obs but didn’t appear to be an issue on the 99+
