So I actually have a question about the f-350 with the 7.3 L diesel. I am already a member of this forum though so I figured I would give my question a shot. I have a 1988 f-350 with 7.3 L diesel engine 124k miles. The truck runs fine and there are no drivetrain issues that I can think of but it makes a sound. The sound can best be described as a baseball card in the spokes of a bicycle tire. I only hear it noticeably when I hit about 55-60MPH and it increases in sound until like 70MPH. The speed does not change just the intensity (So I am thinking it is probably there before that speed I just do not hear it/notice it). I just bought this truck so I do not have the best back story. That being said it does not feel like there is any power loss I can easily punch it at 65 and climb to 70 in no time. It is parked right now but I technically still have about a hour and a half drive to get it home. Any reason why this should not be driven that distance home?
