Hey Everyone,
So I’m currently in the market for a roll up tonneau cover. Probably the truxedo low pro or something similar. Down the road I would like to do the tail gate swap to the newer style and just curious if anyone knows if the tonneau cover would be different with the new tail gate. Currently have a 06 crew cab lariat short box.

You can always order the tonneau cover for an 08, but I'm assuming they're the same

I went to a local store and they have me 2 different part numbers for a cover that fits my 06, compared to the 08+. They said the 08 box it’s a little longer.

I DON'T THINK THAT THE BOX IS ACTUALLY LONGER.....JUST THE TOP OF THE TAILGATE STICKS OUT ABOUT 3" FURTHER.....

CHECK THE MEASUREMENTS ON THE COVERS.....AND COMPARE.....

And I think the extra length is the tailgate "cap". If that's the case, you could swap the cap for an 06. Find an 08 to look at. Or buy the gate first.
