im looking at a 08 450 to buy. it has 4.88's and a 6 speed, and was wondering about what RPM it would be at going down the hwy at 70?

Pretty high, our 2012 with 4.30 rear end is over 2k at 70. I don't know the exact rpm. I will have to check. I bet that thing will out tow anything haha.

2k rpm ain't no biggy. Ur good especially with a 6 speed.

True, the 6spd will help out a lot because you can shift early to keep rpms down but on highway it may still get up there.

RPM at 70 is going to be around 2600/2700 or so with stock height tires.
Mine turns 2100 at 70 with 4.30's and 265/70R19.5 (34.5 tall) Overall gearing is 3.98:1

i tested the vehicle at 70mph and it was at 2600-2700 rpm...

since it is my first diesel... i am not sure, but from specs, that seems high since it above the peak torque band, but at the peak hp...
