Hello,

We are currently looking at the possibility of moving to Colorado. I have an 07 that's fully deleted. I spent a ton of money on the truck fixing all the issues.

What's the chance I pass emissions testing in Colorado? We're looking at the monument area, Colorado Springs area, castle Rock area or maybe black forest.

If I don't think I can pass I may sell before moving if we do move. Jsut wanted to hear what you guys think.

Thank you!

I lived in Monument for 10 years. The truck will most likely pass the smoke test but it will fail the visual if there's no EGR cooler. If you're flexible on where you live, move to an adjacent county where there is no testing. Some guys register their truck at a friend or relatives house.

I forgot to mention..... I noticed the Polaris in your sig. I've spent a ton of time on the trails in that neck of the woods. PM me if you want some good riding suggestions!

We purchased land in Monument. So, a fake cooler in place should be OK??

They never plugged anything into my OBD, just did a visual looking for EGR cooler, valve and cat. Then a smoke test for opacity. I always had a functioning EGR cooler and I'd put my cat back in every other year for the test. My neighbor never had any issues with his hollowed out cat and capped EGR cooler. There's only one place for emissions in El Paso county and they don't have the best rep but I never had any issues with them.

OK, thanks for the information. I'll have to look up the shop in El Paso County and get a feel for it.

I can have a BPD egr cooler put in before the move. Just don't want to if I can get away with it.

You will have to have everything in place to pass visual inspection.

Send me a PM and we can discuss further.

Hello I found this thread while searching and was hoping you could possibly steer me in the right direction. I recently purchased an f350 6.0 and it has been bulletproofed including the egr cooler delete. I only use it for towing the toys and camper and was wondering how to get it through emissions here in Colorado without putting a cooler back in?
Thanks
Mitchell

They're going to look for it so it has to be there. These trucks are all old enough now to require a test every year. I don't think it's worth it to put it all back together that often so I'd just restore it to functionality and leave it in there. You could always put a dummy cooler and valve in so at least it would look functional.

With a dummy cooler and valve
Some trucks will throw a CEL

If the testing facility looks for this. You may fail

If you run a tune to block the CEL
You may not pass the snap idle test due to fluctuating RPM's.

Thats the boat I am in

i have a Bulletproof EGR cooler and stock EGR valve. And can run stock tunes without a CEL
