Guys, I have read through countless threads about max tire size on a stock 05-06 f350, and still have a question. I really appreciate the help!

The truck is an 06 c/c Lariat NON-FX4 4x4 w/ stock 275/65/R20 tires....
I have a set of Rock Crawler series97 wheels - they are 17x9 4.5" BS(what is stock BS?)

My stock tire converts to 34.06"
I want to run 315/70/17's (BFG A/T's for $820) which convert to 34.46"

the section width would be 1.5" wider, so 3/4" on either side; correct?

Seems to me I should have no rubbing or bumping, but I would like to confirm before I pull the trigger on tires.

Thanks again,
Justin

check offset of your factory. 4.5 off set is going bring wheels out, which might rub enter fender. mine are 5.5 offset 10" rim and need lift to clear.

deeper the offset the more room. the height is find.

I went and pulled my wheel -- it is indeed 5 3/8" BS
I measured the steel wheel and it is actually 4" BS

The face of the rim(no tire) sticks out 2" past the fender
The face or the TIRE on the 20" rim sticks out 1 1/2" past the fender

I have decided to not risk it, and got a set 285/70/17 BFG A/T's for $801 out the door.

Tank -- thanks for the wealth of information!

tank good info.

your idea of cutting a little, with no lift for 36 is funny.

I have no problem cutting, just don't wanna do it on my truck -- thats why I have the truck -- to tow the 2 jeeps that are cut up and get beat on :)

Thanks again - Tires should be here tomorrow. I will post pics this weekend.

Bump for pictures -- I posted them at the top --

These are 285/70/17's on 17x9 black steel wheels - They are quite a bit shorter in height as seen in the pictures - This is the largest tire that would fit on this rim on this truck. There is about a 3/4" gap at full lock with the back of the fenders.

Holy Crap Tank -- Nice truck - I like the picture of your little girl easter egg hunting...

I like the flag pole as well...

Thanks for the motivation! ~~ Now, I just have to figure out how to do all your mods and still be able to get under the 5th wheel... :)
