First of all im new to the diesel world and this forum so i apologize in advance for any ignorance or misplaced posts. I bought a 05 6.0 6spd manual with 93k on it a few months back and am already facing some issues. the turbo was supposedly replaced around 20k miles ago and i am now thinking it needs to be rebuilt or replaced. i traced a leak to the intercooler pipe outlet from the turbo and found a stream of oil and a drop at the bottom where the pipe hits the inter cooler. it leeked into the fender well where i fist noticed it. i pulled the intake boot by the turbo inlet and noticed oil spray by the blades and some vert. and lateral play in the shaft and wheel it self. it this something that needs to be replaced and if so how is the Garrett powermax GT3788VA. i mostly drive around town and from redding to the bay area (220 mile trip flat on I5 @ 75 mph) about 6 times a month. im looking mostly for price, longevity and reliability in a turbo. Thanks!

any in and out play means you need to replace it...the garrett is awesome...still easily spooled with stock injectors but definitely more power there

and like the other guy said, bypass the CCV somewhere else...not sure what these 6 liter guys do, but 6.7 cummins guys would just put a filter on the end of the hose and plug the hole in the intake tube
