My right side rear wheel bearing is going out. From what i have found there is an inner and an out. Am I correct in the outer is in the hub and the inner is in the oil side of the rear end? Is it common for both to go bad or just the outer?

both races are actually in the hub and the bearings are lubricated by rear axle fluid. To get the inner bearing out you need to remove the axle seal.

I've never seen a bearing go bad but I guess it is possible if water got in, just take into consideration that there is a special hub nut socket and a special axle seal installer.

I did know about the special tools. If not the bearings what would your guess be? You can only hear it if you listen to the right rear wheel. Makes a clicking sound like when a kid puts a stick in their bike spokes.

Nice exploded view of all the parts.
