Hello,

I'm a new joiner to this forum and this is my first post. Sadly, its a post about a problem I have with my 2003 F250 6.0 PowerStroke.

The truck was running great before i found out that it had a head gasket problem. After doing my research an my home work i did the following to the truck
-Changed the head gasket with Black Onyx HG.
-Installed ARP studs
-Changed the oil cooler and oil cooler screen.
-installed Sinister EGR Delete

My problem starts here. After I finished getting it back together and tried starting, it cranks but wont start. I kept cranking the engine at 10 to15 seconds intervals for two days and did not start. So I hoked up the AutoEnginuity scanning tool and there are no codes. I found the problem when i watched the ICPV at .018v or 2 psi during cranking and the IPR was at 84%.

My thinking is that this pressure is too low for a leak in the system (unless its a very large leak like if a pipe was not connected, which I’m pretty sure that its not the case) and also too low for a faulty IPR . It seem to me that the problem is that the problem is the supply of oil to the HPOP. So, I checked the oil pressure gauge on the dash board and it was moving. I also opened oil filter and cranked the engine to see if oil is coming through and it was fine.

Here where I am right now. I ran out of ideas to explain the almost zero ICP pressure. It is as if HPO is completely open or its not getting oil at all.

I’d appreciate if any one can help me or have any suggestions that could help?

I understand I have almost the same promblem. I replaced the head gas. arp studs a bullet egr cooler new oil cooler and all the rod bearings mains all the gaskets and rings. It ran for about a month or two I can a 1000 miles on it since I rebuilded it and my brother inlaw use it to pull his boat it did fine until he got home and cut it off now it no starts it will crank over and over but nothing I replaced the FICM and the crank and cam sen. I am so lost I dont want to tear into it again please help If you find out.

pull the ipr valve out and see if the screen has been damaged or has a hole in it. usually what happens is when you have the oil cooler out, debris falls into the oil reservoir and as soon as you start cranking on it, the debris goes straight to the pump/ipr valve and wipes out the ipr. also just because it says 84% ipr duty cycle, doesnt mean the ipr is actually closing.

Well then, I'll pull the IPR this weekend and and inspect it.

Thank you for your reply.
